Welcome to Oregon City
preschool’s fundraising page.
We have come up with some simple ways for
you to help the school, and help our kids! In addition to our
two mandatory fundraisers, the Fun Run (fall), and Auction
(spring), we do some optional, seasonal sales throughout the
year, and we offer the opportunity to order scrip year round. On
this page I’ll briefly describe our fundraisers and give you
some links and printable forms you might need. Read the
descriptions, and scroll down for some helpful fundraising tips.
Ø
Fun Run,
October 6th (mandatory)
We begin each
year with our Fun Run. The goal of this fundraiser is to kick of
the year by getting together, to get to know each other, and
have fun with the kids. The children must each raise $20 by the
day of the Fun Run, by flat donation or per lap. We all meet at
Chapin Park
and the children circle the track on
their bikes, walking, or running, as many times as they want. A
hot dog lunch is sold (donated by Reser’s Fine Foods, Great
Harvest Bakery, and other local businesses). Parents take shifts
manning the booths, as tickets are sold to play kiddie carnival
games. The kiddie carnival events vary and we’re always
open to suggestions. In years past we’ve had a bounce house,
cake walk, removable tattoo parlor, bean bag toss, lucky duck
pond, and a pretend fishing game. This is one of our mandatory
fundraisers, but the kids have such a good time, that it really
puts the F-U-N back in fundraiser!
Ø
Cookie Dough,
Cheesecake, Fresh Wreaths; Fall
Our next
fundraiser is a sale, held right around Thanksgiving. Colorful
order forms are sent home right before the Holiday, so that
parents can share them with friends and family who might be
interested in ordering. Orders are delivered quickly, so that
there’s plenty of time for sharing treats at Holiday
get-togethers, and decorating. This is an optional fundraiser,
but the products are so yummy, and beautiful, that they sell
themselves! As an incentive to participate, small prizes are
awarded to the two children who bring in the most money from
their sales. We place our orders for this sale through Action
Fundraising (www.actionfr.com),
a great local fundraising company. A small prize will be awarded
to the top two sellers.
Ø
See’s
Valentines Day Candy, Winter
We had so much
success last year with our See’s Easter candy sale, that we’d
like to add a Valentines candy sale. See’s candy (www.seescandy.com)
is DELICIOUS! The color order forms make selling easy, and the
candy comes beautifully packaged. A small prize will be awarded
to the top two sellers.

soon as one becomes available from the See’s website.
Ø
Annual Auction,
March 15th (mandatory)
Our auction is our biggest fundraiser of the year. A tremendous
amount of parent participation in planning, and working well
ahead of time, and on the day of, always makes our auction a
huge success. Parents sign up for committees, from soliciting
donations, to decorating, or preparing the dinner, everyone
helps out. We’ll sign up for auction committees at the parent
meeting on January 15th, and regroup to go over our
progress on February 19th. A parent from each family
is required to attend, but our auction is open to the public, so
invite family, friends, and everyone you know. It’s never too
soon to be really excited, and to start thinking of ideas for
the auction!
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of the
kind businesses and corporations in our community that have made
the decision to help support our children and our future.
Please take a moment to read through this
list of
supporters. These companies all donated items and
services to our auction. Without them it would not be as
successful as it is every year.
Ø
Plant Sale,
See’s Easter Candy; Spring
This is our last sale of the year, but it’ll help you get
motivated to go outside and plant flowers, to work off the
pounds you put on eating all of the yummy products you bought.
Last year we sold a variety of Annual and Perennial flowers,
veggies, herbs, and etc. from New Leaf Greenhouse, Inc. (www.newleafgreenhouse.com)
I watched my plants get bigger and bloom more, than other’s I’ve
bought in the past, from retailers. These are premium plants,
fresh from the nursery. We’ll need parents to sign up to help us
sort the plant orders, and help Kellie keep an eye on the kids.
School is cancelled on the day that the plants are delivered,
but everyone who helps sort, is welcome to bring all of their
children for play time at the school with Kellie. If you bought
See’s Valentines Day candy, or Easter candy last year, you’ll
know there’s no such thing as too much See’s candy! A small
prize will be awarded to the top two sellers.
Ø
Scrip
We order scrip on the first Tuesday of every month. Order forms
are due by the first Monday of every month, and the scrip will
be in your box by that Thursday afternoon. Scrip is prepaid gift
certificates or cards. Retailers give our school a small
percentage of the cost of the gift certificates. The scrip
program is a really easy way for families to raise money for the
school, just by buying scrip for your normal monthly purchases.
Check out the order form to see all of the businesses that offer
scrip.
